Classification of cooling towers

The cooling tower types that have been eliminated at present will not be introduced here, and the tower types that are still in use are classified as follows.

A. According to the ventilation mode, there are: · Natural ventilation cooling tower · Mechanical ventilation cooling tower · Mixed ventilation cooling tower.

B. According to the contact method of hot water and air, it is divided into: · Wet cooling tower; · Dry cooling tower; · Dry and wet cooling tower.

C. According to the flow direction of hot water and air, there are: · Counter-flow cooling tower; · Cross-flow (AC) cooling tower; · Mixed-flow cooling tower.

D. Other types of cooling towers Other types include jet cooling towers and cooling towers cooled by rotating discs.
